The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum is a nonprofit organization incorporated in the state of Iowa for the sole purpose of preserving the history of the sport car racing and honoring its greatest achievers. The Red Carpet Motel is located next to the Stadium and Lake Red Rock. Less than a 5 minute drive from our hotel is the Knoxville Raceway, also known as the Sprint Car Capital of the World. Races are held on Saturday nights though some special events may start as early as Wednesday and build up to Saturday. Regular events include 360 cubic inch and 410 cubic inch sprint car racing. The Knoxville Nationals, one of the paramount sprint car events in the US, are held every year in August. For more details, please see the Knoxville Raceway website. Pella, IA is barely 15 miles from our motel and is home of the annual Tulip Time Festival. It is a celebration of Pellas Dutch heritage and features tulip gardens, performances, crafters, music, food, Dutch costumes, and daily parades. The festival is held for three days, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, during the first weekend in May. Lake Red Rock is less than 10 miles from our motel and is the place to be for those that enjoy fishing. The beautiful view and the serenity of the lake will take your breath away. Pets are not allowed at this location. | |
