The Lalu Hotel is a member of Design Hotels. The Lalu, set in the central region of Taiwan, overlooks a panoramic view of mystical Sun Moon Lake and is named after the indigenous Thao aboriginal settlement. The hotel was once the favorite summer getaway for President Chiang Kai Shek and dates back to 1901. The Lalu compliments its well-appointed guest accommodations with four food and beverage outlets - The Oriental Brasserie, catering to the Western and Asian palates, a world class Japanese restaurant, a traditional Chinese Tea House and the Lobby Bar and Lounge. In-room dining is available from 06:00 - 23:00. The Spa comes with an extensive range of organic treatments to soothe both the body and the mind. For the more active, there is a 60-meter swimming pool and a well-equipped gym. Sun Moon Lake region offers deeply rooted cultural exhibits, festivals and events in a natural environment.
