It is popularly held that Christopher Columbus landed in Aguada when he discovered Puerto Rico in November 1493. Aguada is located in the Costal Valley of the West region, just five minutes from Aguadilla and twenty minutes from Mayagez. Bordering the Atlantic Ocean, west of Rincn, west of Aguadilla and Moca - and north to Aasco. The town is bathed by many rivers including Culebrinas, Caas, Madre Vieja, Grande, Guayabo, Culebra, and Ingenio. Amenities in Aguada are plenty. Its walking distance beaches, restaurants, bars and pops makes the city a very relaxing, laid back city. One of the citys main attractions is the beautiful Square facing St Francis of Assisi Church and Majors Office. There is also one of the first ruins churches dated from 1529 at Espinal neighborhood, where the Franciscan Friars were killed by the Caribes Indians. Check-in is at 4 00 PM.
