The Kingsgate hotel is of a good budget traveller category. Rooms are comfortable rather than luxurious. The great attraction of Te anau is its proximity to some of the best hiking in the world, within a world Heritage status national park which includes both Milford sound and Doubtful sound. The lake across the road from the hotel is the second largest in New Zealand. The rooms are of a reasonable size with many rooms refurbished in 2006. The Bluestone restaurant and bar is a relaxed standard hotel restaurant. It takes advantage of some excellent local produce. Two storey low rise building. A small sized lobby. | |
