General Description | |
De Oude Taveerne is located in the picturesque village of Durgerdam, at the outskirts of Amsterdam. The hotel is exceptionally sited on the most beautiful natural bay of the Netherlands, Buiten-IJ, the gate to the Markermeer and the IJsselmeer Lakes. Hotel Oude Taveerne is one of the last accommodations that have been preserved in the town, now being englobed by the big city of Amsterdam. According to reports, the husband of Queen Wilhelmina, Prince Hendrik, was a frequent and gladly seen guest of the Taveerne, which is a good place to stop for nature lovers and lovers of the rural beauty, as well as for hikers, tourists, yachts, and for all those who appreciate a good meal. Yet, the hotel also features a separate conference, or meeting room, and meeting arrangements in combination with the hotel rooms are possible. The restaurant was adorned with splendid murals that remind of former days. Guests will be served a Dutch-French menu with fresh fish and meat specialties from the grill, and gourmet game dishes, according to the season, while you may enjoy a freshly draught beer, or a good drop of wine at the original bar with its beautiful century-old tap. Wireless Internet access is provided, and there is an Internet point at the De Oude Taveerne Hotel lobby, both free of charge. | |
