The La Purificadora is located in the historic center of Puebla, a colonial city on the road between Mexico City and Oaxaca.
Innovative Mexican hotelier Carlos Couturiers latest project is an inland wonder, a former 19th-century water-purifying center, next to the Iglesia de San Francisco in the colonial city of Puebla. Purity is the guiding principle of the hotels design as executed by renowned architect Ricardo Legorreta. Black and white are the only colors, bringing out the subtleties of the materials used, stone from the original building, old wood, onyx, and custom floor tile, as well as found materials such as bottles and glass fragments are also integrated in the hotels graphic design. But this minimalism should not be confused with lack of luxury. A roof terrace and 30-meter pool provide ample recreational opportunity along with a fully equipped gym. A ground-floor restaurant, patio, library, and extensive wine cellar offer civilized diversions, but the hotels real achievement is in its mix of tradition and contemporary flavor, giving Puebla a hotel to savor on the road from Mexico City to Oaxaca.
The 26 guestrooms offer spectacular views of the city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The room amenities include wireless Internet access, satellite TV, min bars, hairdryers, safes, and ironing boards. Pets allowed, but there is a $40 USD surcharge per pet per night Parking is available at an extra charge. Rates are based on double occupancy. Charges for extra adults may apply and will be due directly to the hotel. |
