Regent lodge - is well designed warmly offer discreet, villa style accommodation and hospitality for a small number of discerning travelers. There are no signposts showing how to get there, but guests arriving by the train are met at the Kandy railway station free of charge. The owner decided to leave mainstream hotel management to create a haven for the discerning.
It is a place to recommend with confidence for sophisticated friends from overseas as well as somewhere to enjoy for oneself on a trip to Kandy.
A chance acquaintance with a Canadian couple touring Sri Lanka independently let me to the regent lodge a boutique hotel in Kandy the couple had heard of the hotel from a friend, stayed there and was enchanted by it.
Regent lodge does not advertise, so it was only thanks to this word-of-mouth recommendation that i discovered this rare place with exquisite, but informal good taste. Airport transfer needs to be arranged directly with the property.
