Philosopher's Walk(10 minutes from the hotel on foot): This two-kilometer path from Nyakuoji Shrine to Ginkakuji Temple is named for philosopher Kitaro Nishida, who rolled various thoughts around in his mind as he strolled around Kyoto. June evenings bring the ethereal light of fireflies, and they will please your eyes as they dart around. Honen-in(15 minutes from the hotel on foot): It is said that Kano Honen Shonin received his training at this temple, which quietly marks the time with its hair moss garden and stone tower. Visitors can see the graves of many famous people including Kyoto's beloved Jun??ichiro Tanizaki.
