The La Plage Resort is located on a beach that faces the island of Isola Bella (not to be confused with the island in Lago Maggiore), which is a nature reserve. The nearby city of Taormina is ancient, with Greek and Roman ruins, old churches and buildings, and modern shops and restaurants. Trains run frequently to Taormina on the Messina-Catania line. The city is served by an airport in Catania, an hour’s drive away, and most hotels offer limousine service. For those with cars, Taormina is on the A18 motorway, and the La Plage Resort has a car park (fee charged).
