The Casale is a traditional 19th century farm house built on ancient late Etruscan Roman foundations and recently restored into a family home. Originally it was the residence of Count Guarnieri and the centre of a large farming establishment complete with outbuildings. In the remote past it lay within the outskirts of the ancient Etruscan city of Vejo. In the course of last century the house and its outbuildings were completely restored into modern residences. The Casale offers now comfortable accommodation within peaceful and beautiful surroundings. It consist of a solid rectangular stone building with timber trusses, implanted on the brow of a hill with a wise east-west orientation that provides a variety of microclimatic conditions. It has a ground floor with various reception rooms and a kitchen. A first floor with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. A second floor in a characteristic tower with the master bedroom and a bathroom. Located in Cesano di Roma, the Casale is self-contained and set in an idyllic one acre garden with mature umbrella pine trees and an orchard, while only 30km north of the centre of Rome and well connected to the city by bus or metro-train (35mins). The one-acre garden shaded with matured umbrella pine trees and pleasingly landscaped with a variety of Mediterranean plants, flowers and bushes will be available for play (also equipped for children), resting, sunbathing etc. all year round because of the mild Mediterranean weather. The fruit orchard with apple, apricot, plum, fejoas, pear, kaki and fig trees provides fresh fruits for the table and for the preparations of our famous jams. Casal Monte Guarnieri is an ideal base for exploring the historical richness of the eternal city and its hinterland, while also offering a peaceful retreat from Rome's incessant hassle and bustle and intense summer heat. | |
