The building which is the centre of the Hotel Castello was built in the early years of the XV century (1425) as a monastery for followers of St. Francis of Assisi. After the suppression of the monastic orders by the French administration (Napoleon I) in 1809 it was converted into police station and a prison. Other uses followed until, in 1922, it was acquired privately and became an hotel. The historical building has recently been radically restored and now offers all the comfort of a three star Hotel. Hospitality. Its central position makes it an ideal base for both business men and tourists.
