The Grand Hotel Astoria dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, when Grado was still the holiday destination of the Habsburgs and the nobilities from Middle Europe. The hotel can look back on times of luxury and excellence and also housed the casino. After its reconstruction in 1991 it reopened its doors and glistens today in its renewed splendour, offering high levels of comfort. The hotel is set a mere stroll from the sea, in the historic centre from the Roman time. It offers 124 soundproof rooms, equipped with individually adjustable air-condition, direct dial telephone, mini bar, satellite TV and direct internet access. Barrier-free rooms are also available. The restaurants serve copious appetizer buffets and have a private pastry shop. Apart from the classic restaurant, you will also find the Settimo Cielo, a panorama restaurant-bar on the 7th floor with a gorgeous view of the sea, the rustic pub Osteria al Gial with its selected wines and traditional Friulian products, as well as the elegant piano bar. On the 7th floor there is also a swimming pool with panorama view and a large solarium terrace, while the mezzanine floor features an indoor swimming pool with a waterfall and hydro massage facilities. Both swimming pools have seawater which is taken some 100 m away from the beach. The health offer is complemented by a centre for Thalassotherapie and physiotherapy on the 1st floor, managed by professional staff, that provides regular thermal treatments, inhalations, massages and beauty treatments, to name but a few. | |
