The Hotel Accademia is located in an old building dating back to the 14th century, once the home of Bernardo Cennini, a famous goldsmith and sculptor who was born in Florence in 1415 and who worked on the creation of the wonderful Saint John's Baptistry. Cennini was one of the artists who worked on the huge Baptistry's door and on the Altar, a splendid work of art made entirely from silver (400 kilos) in Gothic-Renaissance style. Some of the items that Cennini created are now on shown in the Duomo's Museo dell'Opera. Situated in the ancient historical center of Florence, the Accademia Hotel is located opposite the Medicean Chapels, 5 minutes walk from S. M. Novella central rail station, the Congress Center and the most important museums and monuments of the city. The rooms are all equipped with private facilities, direct dial telephone, satellite TV, air conditioning, safe-box and hairdryer. Recently restructured our hotel offers its guests bar service, reading room and an ample picturesque breakfast hall. Parking in fixed price garages. Internet Point inside. | |
