General Description | |
Borgo San Marco has preserved the fifteenth century original farmhouse building, nowadays turned into an elegant receptive structure. Nowadays Borgo San Marco appears as a valuable rural and architectural example, with its defensive tower that dates back to the end of the fifteenth century, its little seventeenth chapel, its hidden gardens and citrus fruit orchards, its stables turned into a modern reception and a lounge, its amazing pool well integrated with the Mediterranean surroundings and its lovely wellness centre in the ancient fold. Once you reach it, you'll immediately see its whitewash and yellow ochre walls, as every masseria should have to be part of the local chessboard. It was like this for the Knights of Malta and so it still is for Alessandro Amati. The Amati's family bought it in the seventeenth century, turning it into a farmhouse (that still produces an high- quality olive oil). | |
