The magnitude of the task is awe-inspiring, but was made possible with dedication, will, love and sheer obsession. Fateh Bagh has a history as rich as the State it is nestled in. For 200 years, it stood as "Rawla Koshilav" at Koshilav village, 50 km from its present site in Ranakpur, fell in love with it, decided to restore it to its original glory, but at a more approachable site and the rest as they say is what fables are made of.
Today, it is almost impossible to imagine that there was barren land where this magnificent structure now stands. The imposing square shaped, light biscuit-colored palace with its majestic arches, intricately carved pillars and pavilions, beautiful domes and an exquisite fountain in the foreground seems right at home in this picturesque town and melts effortlessly into the landscape.
