Youghal is a colorful seaside town, which offers excellent shopping and leisure facilities. Situated at the mouth of the River Blackwater, it has long associations with sea and salt. Sir Walter Raleigh lived at Myrtle Grove in Youghal where he grew the first potatoes, having brought them back from the New World. The town walls dating from the 15th century are among the best preserved in Ireland. Youghal has been designated a Heritage town as it boasts some fine medieval buildings, which lend to its attraction as one of Ireland's most popular resorts.
The Quality Hotel and Leisure Centre Youghal offers its guests rooms with sea views. The hotel restaurant is on the beachfront, where you can enjoy a variety of dishes. The bar provides lively seasonal entertainment in its idyllic situation. Leisure facilities at the hotel include: outdoor football pitch, outdoor tennis court, and two children's game rooms.
