General Description | |
This delightful English country pub, hotel and restaurant has recently been the subject of much rebuilding work to restore it to its former beauty. The building housing the pub and restaurant dates back to the 17th century and the abundance of beams and studwork that were uncovered during restoration have been left exposed wherever possible. The bar area and the rooms above were added during the Victorian era and furnishings and fittings have been chosen to blend in with these two distinct periods. The restaurant contains a wealth of exposed beams, with an original fireplace. It is in this warm atmosphere that guests can choose delicious dishes from the adventurous and interesting menu. The hotel comprises a total of 24 guest rooms and is non-smoking throughout. Facilities on offer include a lobby, Internet access and parking for those arriving by car. Woburn is a delightful country village with a mix of architecture ranging from Elizabethan to Victorian. It has excellent art and antique galleries. Woburn Railway Station is about 12.5 km away and the bus station at Milton Keynes is about 4.5 km from the hotel. London Luton Airport is some 34 km away, while Coventry Airport is 82 km away and London Heathrow Airport is some 87 km from the hotel. | |
