The Kings Head is an imposing 200 year old Hotel, standing right on the town square, in the heart of the local community and the beautiful town of Wimborne Minster. Step off the High Street into Laing's Bar and sink into the sofas while enjoying a cappuccino and a pastry. The restaurant offers an extensive menu with food served all day, from classic favourites to more indulgent choices, all at great value. The original building circa 1800s was owned by and known as The Laing's Hotel until the turn of the century, when another floor was added to make it into the centrepiece of the town square that it is today, dedicated now to Henry VII. Location is key and with Poole being just 20 minutes away, and Bournemouth and Southampton just half an hour's drive, access couldn't be easier. The hotel boasts 27 en-suite bedrooms, all traditionally decorated and furnished to a high standard. The function suite, The Minster Room provides the perfect venue for business meetings, private dining and wedding receptions. The ground floor underwent a major refurbishment in 2007, giving it a contemporary feel but retaining its traditional ambience. With its high ceilings and large windows, sofas and comfortable armchairs, the Kings Head has a light elegant airy feel, reminiscent of a bygone era. There are lots of old photographs, some over one hundred years old, of the hotel, its development and of the old town, all adding to the feel and quality of this lovely building. The hotel has limited on-site free car parking for hotel guests and residents. The lift facility and wheelchair access makes the hotel easily accessible to the disabled. | |
