The 4 star accredited Borthalan Hotel is a small, friendly, privately owned hotel personally managed by the proprietors, Martin and Margaret Smith. The Borthalan Hotel is a house with a great deal of character, set within its own grounds and built in the early 20th century. It is ideally situated in a secluded quiet road, with free private parking and a beautiful garden to enjoy, overlooking the golden sands of Carbis Bay beach and St Ives Bay. Nearby is the picturesque fishing town of St Ives, reached either by the frequent scenic train service (3 minute trip) from Carbis Bay station (3 minutes walk) or via the coastal footpath with its breathtaking views of the sea and coast (35-40 minutes walk). Here you will find a wealth of interesting things to see and do, including the pretty harbour, the Tate Gallery, the Barbara Hepworth Museum, potteries and artists' studios, shopping, surfing and coastal walks to name but a few. A little further afield is the world famous Eden Project (1 hour), St Michaels Mount, Flambards Theme Park, The Minack Theatre and of course Lands End (30 minutes). There are gardens galore, country houses, tin mines, wildlife parks and more. Nearby you can walk to a selection of restaurants. We are of course licensed and have a guest lounge for your personal use. All of our rooms are well appointed and comfortable and most rooms have wonderful views of the sea and the West Cornish coast line. | |
