Thorns Hall is a small 16th century manor house which nestles at the foot of the Howgill Fells in the Yorkshire Dales. Designated as non-smoking, its 24 bedrooms, equipped with a hairdryer, clock radio and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, are located within the house or in converted outbuildings across the cobbled courtyard. Flatscreen TVs are provided in the bedrooms. Guests can relax in the bar and two cosy wood-panelled public lounges with open fires. Accommodation through LateRooms is on a BandB basis. A choice of full English or continental breakfast is offered. A three-course dinner is available on request at a price of £22.95 and served at 7 to 7.30pm. Please contact the house if you wish to have dinner on your night of arrival. All meals are served in an informal, friendly atmosphere at tables for up to 10 guests. Free car parking is available. Please notify the Country House in advance if you intend to arrive after 10.30pm. Bedrooms are available from 2.30pm on the day of arrival and should be vacated by 10am on the day of departure. The Country House is an excellent base for those on an activity or walking holiday. Nearby attractions include Levens Hall, White Scar cave and the town of Hawes, home of Wensleydale cheese. | |
