General Description | |
The Anchor Inn is an idyllic colour-washed hotel overlooking the sea on the East Devon Coast dating back from the 19th century when it was once a coast guard lookout. Beer itself is a delightful picture postcard village, once famous for its smugglers and the highly valued Beer stone, used in pottery and buildings such as St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London. As you might expect from our name and location, our bar and restaurant specialise in fresh local seafood - though we offer a wide range of other dishes too, complemented by a comprehensive wine list. We also serve fine real ales, that you would expect from an Inn located in the village of Beer. Our cliff-top beer garden is very popular in the summer, while open fires keep our bars cosy in the colder months. This part of the country has all the right ingredients for a perfect getaway, with plenty of coastal walks, golf courses, nearby Cathedral city of Exeter, and fishing on the doorstep. The Anchor Inn provides the very best in hospitality and a warm welcome to all guests. We have 8 en-suite bedrooms, all tastefully furnished with modern amenities. Our dining areas can be adapted to meet the needs for private functions and weddings, and we can tailor the menus to suit your requirements and budget. Please note this is subject to availability. Whatever the reason for your visit or stay at The Anchor Inn, we can guarantee a welcoming atmosphere, delicious food, comfortable rooms and a unique relaxed style of hospitality, which makes The Anchor Inn a favourite with locals and visitors alike. | |
