General Description | |
The Ship Inn is in the centre of Rye, at the bottom of Mermaid Street. It was built in 1592, originally as a warehouse to store contraband seized from Smugglers. It is now a characterful countryside pub, with old beams, wooden floors, open fires and various areas to sit in and relax. Open from eleven all day every day for freshly prepared food, local fish, bloody mary's, real ales & organic ciders and from nine at the weekends for brunch. The Ship has 10 comfy modern rooms - all with en-suite bath or shower. Children, dogs, mother in laws, are all very welcome. | |
