Stoneygate holiday centre is situated near the Roman village of Ribchester, which is the gate way to the Forest of Bowland A.O.N.B. (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). This is an ideal base to discover the Ribble Valley by walking, cycling or horse riding. Our newly built stone Self Catering cottages are all 2 bedroom with an open plan lounge and kitchen. The bathrooms have either a bath with shower combined or a wet room. There is a separate laundry and drying room. The Forest of Bowland AONB is of national and international importance because of its unspoiled and richly diverse landscapes, wildlife and heritage, with outstanding heather moorland, blanket bog and rare birds. Expanses of sky above dramatic sweeps of open moorland, gentle and tidy lowlands, criss-crossed with dry stone walls and dotted with picturesque farm and villages - all waiting to be explored! There is no better way of escaping from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and partaking in some of the most peaceful and remote walking, riding and cycling in the country. Explore some of the many unique villages steeped in history. While away your time observing some of the rare and enigmatic birds and wildlife, or simply indulge in sampling some of the very best local produce the area has to offer. Why not make Bowland your discovery? We can arrange for the hire of a Tramper (prior notice required) for those who have difficulty walking. Places to visit: City of Lancaster, Manchester, Liverpool, Preston, Leeds, Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Bright lights of Blackpool and its Pleasure Beach, Southport, Morecambe, Camelot theme park are all within easy reach.
