Pickering hosts several major events each year: the war weekend, Traction engine rally, various events featuring the Steam Railway ( North Yorkshire Moors Railway - NYMR - ) and of course the increasingly popular 60's Weekend. A few minutes out of town a wealth of of stunning villages set in the beauties of the North Yorkshire Moors. With the coast only 20 miles away many fishing villages and the larger attractions of Whitby and Scarboroungh are in easy reach.
