Moorlands is set in six acres of grounds within the Exmoor National Park, with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. We offer visitors, seeking good quality and comfortable accommodation, a warm and friendly welcome. The accommodation is comfortable and quiet, with large double bedded rooms; one with a second double room suitable for use as a family suite. All rooms have en-suite facilities, colour television and beverage making facilities. We also have within the building two self contained apartments where dogs are as welcome as our guests - to enjoy the freedom of self-catering combined with the convenience and friendly atmosphere of a family run guesthouse. Apartments are let for a minimum of THREE NIGHTS giving guests the choice of weekly or shorter weekend mid-week breaks .Surrounded by arable farmland and wild moor, the beautiful Woody Bay and the stunning South West Coast Path, within two miles walk or drive are well worth a visit. The twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth are only four miles away, offering a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. A little further afield are the beautiful beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde for those who prefer the sun, sea or surf. Colonel Benjamin Green Lake built Moorlands in the late 19th Century as a gentleman's residence as part of his plans to develop the Wooda Bay Estate. In recent years it has been extended to provide both bed and breakfast and self-catering accommodation, our emphasis now being on quiet relaxation. Evening meals are available in our licensed dinning room (by arrangement) and coffee served in our residents lounge with real fire during the colder months. | |
