General Description | |
There is an abundance of wildlife, numerous walks and nature trails, also direct access to the famous Pennine Way. We are ideally situated to explore the stunning scenery in and around Northumberland and the border country which is steeped in a sometimes turbulent and violent history, for example the Battle of Otterburn in 1388 where an English army under Sir Henry Percy fought an army of Scottish knights under the Earl of Douglas. Only a short drive away is the famous Hadrians Wall, built by the Roman emperor Hadrian around 122 AD. Travelling in the other direction is the Heritage Coast with beautiful beaches. Or just simply relax on the holiday park and savour the now peaceful views without going anywhere. Please take time to view our pages as we also provide self catering accommodation in our Border Forest country cottage or our Timber Lodge, these later types of accommodation are open all year round. | |
