General Description | |
Forwood Farm enjoys a most beautiful and peaceful setting with stunning views from all the bedrooms. It is situated on the outskirts of the wonderful ancient town of Minchinhampton, which lies between Stroud and Cirencester alongside 600 acres of National Trust common land, and is home to the Gatcombe Estate and the Princess Royal. Minchinhampton is an excellent example of a small Cotswold town, many buildings dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. Complete with post office, butcher, chemist, antique and village shop, coffee house, pub and restaurants, it is able to cater for most needs. Activities include walking, cycling (Route 45 of the National Cycle Network passes Forwood Farm), and golf. Gliding and even hot air balloon rides can be arranged. Many public houses and restaurants are easily accessible from the house and give ample opportunity to sample the delights on offer. Five minutes by car, or thirty minutes on foot, is the town of Nailsworth, a busy centre full of interesting shops, pubs and cafes. Whether it's a visit to the Corinium Museum, Brewery Arts Centre, Cirencester Park or the Roman Amphitheatre, Cirencester has plenty to offer. If that's not enough, Cirencester is within easy reach of the world famous Westonbirt Arboretum near Tetbury, the Cotswold Wildlife Park in Burford and the Keynes Country Park part of the Cotswold Water Park. | |
