The Boars Head is an AA 3 Star Rated Inn beautifully situated in the quaint town of Middlewich. Middlewich is located clsoe to the Trent and Mersey Canal. It provides an excellent base for countryside walkers and cyclists. It makes a good base for exploring Cheshire and Chester itself is not to far away. Middlewich is just two miles from junction 18 off the M6. Middlewich is set in the heart of Cheshire's salt area. Timber framed housing, pottery and the remains of clay-lined salt evaporation chambers have been excavated. Middlewich boasts a superb Parish Church in the town centre, whose history dates back to Roman times. Middlewich is a key junction on the bustling waterway; here the Trent Mersey joins the Shropshire Union Canal. Today these Canals and rivers are still a major feature of the landscape around Middlewich and there are many walks that run alongside them.
