The Best Western Forest Lodge Hotel was built in 1820 as the dower house of the Northerwood Estate and was used as a hunting box by King George IV. The hotel still retains much of its Georgian architecture and stands in 1= acres of grounds, overlooking the New Forest Golf Course. Within easy walking distance is the bustling village of Lyndhurst, where the New Forest Museum is situated.
