The County Hotel is situated in the peace and quiet of the ancient Epping Forest, just 30 minutes by tube to central London with all its theatres, shops and restaurants. At the end of the day, you will find our comfortable en suite bedrooms the perfect place to unwind.
The County hotel is located in a secluded area of ancient Epping Forest. A multitude of nearby historical sites compliment the forest: Chingford is home to the Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge dating back to the Tudor era; the old market town of Waltham Abbey dates back to 1035. The Iron Age hill fort settlements of Ambresbury Banks and Loughton Camp are even older and both lie within the forest itself. The hotel is on the Central Line tube line (stop: South Woodford). The centre of London is 15 miles away and here guests can find theatres, shops and all the capital's well-known attractions. The Docklands lie to the east of London and contain the financial heart of Canary Wharf. For the business traveller or delegate the M11 and M25 are just minutes away and 2 airports, London Stansted (45 km) and London City, are also within easy reach.
The County Hotel has ninety-nine rooms, which offer comfortable and excellent value accommodation, with all the amenities the guest would expect from a modern hotel. All rooms are en suite with bathtub/shower, hairdryer and toiletries. They have either one standard double bed or 2 single beds. The rooms are equipped with all modern amenities including a direct dial telephone, satellite TV with pay TV, Internet access, and tea and coffee making facilities.
The Panache restaurant offers modern British cuisine and a fine selection of wines. Our newly refurbished Statesman Suites with its glass Atrium area overlooking Epping Forest, can hold up to 150 delegates or the same number for a dinner dance or reception.
