The Lochgair Hotel is a family run hotel which is situated on the main trunk route to the Kintyre peninsula with all its stunning scenery amidst the highlands of Argyll. This tourist route also leads to Tarbert and the Islay Ferry. Islay is the mainstay of whisky distilleries, so great news for those who appreciate whisky, and our specialist whisky bar contains a variety of Islay whisky for ease of sampling!We have a total of 14 rooms made up of 10 ensuite including a family room, and 4 non-ensuite which are in the process of being upgraded. All rooms have hospitality tray for Tea/Coffee, Hair dryers, Toiletries, Flat screen TV with Freesat and DVD, alarm clocks and central heating. We are in the village of Lochgair which is 17 miles from Inveraray, 8 miles from Lochgilphead and approx 2 minutes walk to Loch Fyne shore. Loch Glashan Forestry Commission walks and cycle paths are ¼ mile from the hotel. Ardcastle Forestry Commission walks and cycle paths are 1 ½ miles from the hotel. There are further splendid walks 3 miles from the hotel at Port Ann. Immediately behind the hotel is a walking route which when at the top provides splendid views of Loch Fyne. Lochgair is on route to many Historical Scotland sights. One example is Kilmartin Glen, which boasts Neolithic standing stone circles and burial cairns. | |
