General Description | |
The Blenheim Lakeside Hotel is a beautifully restored Victorian Villa overlooking the boating lake in Sefton Park, the largest park in Liverpool. It is one of the original detached houses on the perimeter of the park where rich merchants and shipping magnates once lived in style. More modern history confirms that 'The Blenheim' was the family home of original Beatles member Stuart Sutcliffe in the 1960s. Stuart's family continued to live there after his tragic death following a Beatles tour to Hamburg. 37 Aigburth Drive has moved on; however we have been careful to remember our legacy. Over Autumn 2007 the hotel was re-developed and upgraded. Stui's Bar, named in honour of Stuart Sutcliffe, is one the hotel's focal points - an ideal place for guests to chat and unwind over a drink or two. Non-residents are also welcome. Sports fans can be sure that they won't miss a big match as Stui's Bar features large-screen Sky TV. With unparalleled views of Sefton Park's boating lake from its original bay windows, our new lounge is designed to allow you to relax and get comfortable. It features a fascinating display of early Beatles memorabilia including original, signed photographic prints by Stuart's fiancee Astrid Kirchherr. If you'd like tea, coffee, a snack or an evening meal - just ask. Always a hotel stay favourite, a full English breakfast is included in all our room rates. You won't be disappointed by the choice we have. | |
