Set inside a magnificent hundred-year-old building, Penny Street Bridge was originally the Corporation Toll House, but it was demolished in 1901 and rebuilt as two separate pubs - the White Cross Hotel and the Corporation Arms.
These two pubs later became known as simply the Farmer's Arms, until Daniel Thwaites Brewery of Blackburn completely transformed it with a 2million GBP refurbishment in 2007.
The lobby is small and cosy with limited seating. It is smart and modern.
