St Benedict is a beautiful and comfortable home built in 1881, and is finished and run with the style and comfort of a bygone age. On arrival our guests may take tea on the lawns where a snowy cloth is laid with fine china and home baking straight from the Aga or in the winter sit in the drawing room in front of a roaring fire. If you wish you can arrange to have a full dinner in the victorian dining room with a choice of Mrs Beeton's traditional recipes prepared 'below stairs'.Every morning tea can be brought to you before you come down for breakfast, served country house style. Help yourself to a full English breakfast or try such empire favourites as kedgeree. We have two cosy second-floor double bedrooms with sea views. Each guest room has its own private bathroom with sink or washstand, a rolltop bath with a handheld hairwashing attachment. There is no shower. Before you leave why not enjoy a stroll through the garden, the peach house, or sit in the summer house or even have a few minutes' quiet in the garden chapel. We will do our best to make your visit to St Benedict an opportunity for you to be well looked after and even spoilt a little!Hastings is a cosmopolitan coastal town which lies between the rugged beauty of the East and West Hills and has its own 660 acre country park. Home to Europe's largest beach-launched fishing fleet. With famous international events festivals in Goodwood, Glyndebourne,Chichester, Arundel, Eastbourne and Britain's newest National Park - The South Downs, Sussex is the place to visit this summer. | |
