A very good hotel in the heart of the Lake district. The hotel is ideal for both groups and individuals. Many of the rooms enjoy spectacular views over the Lake whilst others look towards the stunning fells and mountains that surround the beautiful village of Grasmere. Room provided to clients are Economy Rooms. The hotel and it's gardens are perfectly situated on the shores of Grasmere Lake. The hotel is just a short stroll from the beautiful village of Grasmere with its many attractions including Dove Cottage, which was the home of William Wordsworth and Sarah Nelsons Gingerbread shop. The hotel has an elegant Edwardian style restaurant with beautiful high ceilings which offers a choice of traditional English and Continental dishes, complemented by a carefully chosen wine list. This traditional grey stone building, built in the Edwardian era, still has the style and atmosphere of the Country House that its most famous guest, Edward Prince of Wales appreciated so much. The lobby is cosy and very welcoming. It is fairly large in size. | |
