Rothay Garden provides the comfort, quality and peace and quiet that so many visitors to the Lake District look for. Owned and operated by Chris Carss and his dedicated team since 1990, the hotel has this year benefitted from a £3 million redevelopment programme. Today, the hotel’s 30 beautiful bedrooms, including 12 gorgeous suites, are an ideal base for a perfect short break in The Lakes. The stylish Garden Restaurant overlooking the hotel’s two acres of gardens, chic lounge bars, two AA-rosette awarded food and a delightful new Riverside Spa all combine to ensure that guests can have the short break or holiday that they deserve. And just outside the hotel, the renowned Lake District awaits – Grasmere really is the “jewel of the Lakes” and is, of course, centrally situated for Ambleside, Windermere, Keswick and Kendal. All the bedrooms and suites at Rothay Garden offer great en-suite facilities, satellite tv, welcome tray, hairdryer and complementary toiletries and bathrobes. Many of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, and half of the rooms have superb six-foot wide King Size beds (with the remainder having luxurious five-foot Queen Size beds). All the rooms have excellent views over the nearby fells, and many have their own patios or balconies overlooking the gardens or the babbling river Rothay. Unlike a traditional hotel restaurant, the two-rosette Garden Restaurant at Rothay Garden is an attraction in its own right, with its contemporary furniture, clean elegant lines and great views overlooking the hotel’s two acres of gardens. The hotel’s kitchens are managed by Head Chef Andrew Burton, who has been at the hotel with Chris Carss for nearly 20 years and is one of only 300 Masterchefs of Great Britain. The new Riverside Spa was opened in 2011 and offers hotel guests an exclusive facility including Hydrospa, Herbal Pine Sauna, Aromatherapy Room, Monsoon Feature Showers, Infrared Loungers and an amazing Reflexology Walk. It’s the ideal place to chill out and relax – or enjoy a chilled glass of wine or a cold beer before dinner. Please note, pets are not accepted. Business hours of reception: | |
