Ben Craig House is close to a very good bus route into Edinburgh city centre. It has pleasant rooms, free Wi-Fi and some free parking. The quiet Victorian guest house is just southeast of the city centre, which is within walking distance. Ben Craig is well located for many Edinburgh Festival venues. A good breakfast is served overlooking the garden. Directions From South M6/A74 From the A74 take the A702 through BIGGAR, which will bring you on to the A720 City Bypass. Join the Bypass where signposted 'Edinburgh South & East'. Leave the Bypass at the first junction marked 'Straiton Junction', join the A701 and follow the signs for City Centre. After 2.5 miles (4 km) bear left onto Craigmillar Park. Quarter a mile further on you will see 'Ben Craig House' on the right. From South M1. Take the A68 from Scotch Corner, through Jedburgh and Dalkeith. After Dalkeith the road will merge with the A7 where you follow the City Centre signs. ALTERNATIVELY: Take the A1 round the coastal route and join the A720 City Bypass as you approach the city. From Glasgow The M8 Motorway now terminates at a roundabout known as the 'Edinburgh Interchange'. On the roundabout take the third exit signposted 'Edinburgh South & East' and join the A720 City Bypass. Continue on the bypass until Straiton junction, leave the bypass and join the A701 as for M6 traffic. From North M90 Follow signs for City Centre, Princes Street, and Berwick Upon Tweed A1 & East that will take you along Queen Street. Go right at the roundabout ('All other routes'), keeping John Lewis on your right. Go straight on at the traffic lights and left on to North Bridge, keeping the New Balmoral Hotel on your right. Continue straight on until the road becomes Craigmillar Park. ALTERNATIVELY: follow the signs for City Bypass and proceed as for Glasgow arrivals.
