Wooden beams can be seen throughout the property, and a large inglenook fireplace which still has a Bressumer beam. Many flagstone floors still exist, one contains an inlaid iron horse shoe which according to Saxon (7th century) superstition is said to keep the threshold safe from devils and witches. There is still 18th century wooden wall panelling in the hallway. The property was originally part of the estate belonging to the Tudor King Henry VIII, who subsequently sold the house and its lands to W. B.
