The rooms are small and medium in size and in excellent condition. This hotel is situated 15 miles north of Inverness and 1 mile from the centre of Dingwall. The hotel is surrounded by magnificent mountains and dates back to the 12th century. To stay in such illustrious surroundings was once the preserve of kings, but now taking a break in a Highland castle is possible. The green lady bar, oak room and the great hall are very traditional with ornate ceilings and wood panelling. There is a wide variety of dishes on offer prepared by one of the highland's top chefs. Tulloch Castle dates from the 12th Century and stands as an impressive fortress. This is a historical building and its elevated position proudly guards over Dingwall. Many of the ancient Castle features still exist including the dungeons. The hotel is set in splendid grounds with excellent views of the surrounding area. The hotel lobby is large and very elegant with leather sofas and mahogany wood panelling. There is an attractive reception desk and Space for luggage. | |
