There are many local attractions across the county. Whether it's a gentle walk around one of the many castles of North Wales or a more vigorous activity, Criccieth is centrally located to many of our finest attractions and resorts. Fancy climbing Snowdon? Wales' highest mountain is about half an hour away by car. You don't have to climb to the top, take a picnic along with you, rest at the foot of the great mountain and be amazed by the views.. A little over seven miles away is the Italian style village of Portmeirion. This world famous attraction is a must for all visitors to North Wales. Secluded on a private peninsula, this village was opened in 1926 and boasts beautiful gardens and walks along with breathtaking architecture throughout. Don't forget there are the narrow gauge railways in the area - Ffestiniog Railway, home of the unique Double Fairlie locomotives - Welsh Highland Railway - Welsh Highland Heritage Railway and the Tal-y-Llyn Railway Most of the bedrooms at The Bodlondeb are en suite and some enjoy wonderful sea views.
