The Sutherland Inn is a small family run hotel in the centre of the village of Brora. The Village has a 18 Hole Links Golf course and Salmon Fishing on the River Brora. Brora is a coastal village on the north east coast of Scotland, only 70 miles south of John O'Groats. Brora has its own harbour dating back several centeries and long sandy beaches streching for miles. for the wildlife lovers amounst you then seals can be found on the south beach most of the year round. The Sutherland Inn has just reopened after a major refit in december 2007, which included all rooms, lounge bar and resturant areas and now offers free wifi broadband. The Sutherland Inn has a growing collection of over 170 single malt whiskies and an impressive wine list to compliment the localy sourced and freshly prepared menu, which can be enjoyed next to an open fire on the colder evenings. The Sutherland Inn offers Scottish Real Ale and is incuded in the 2008 and 2009 Real Ale Guide. For those you you that enjoy a round of golf then the Sutherland Inn can prebook T Times on your behalf at any local golf course, which includes Brora, Royal Dornach and Golspie. The malt whisky lovers amounst you then there is a guided tour around the clyneish distillery situated within Brora. Other Distilleries in the area include Old Pultney, Balblair, Glenmorngie, Dalmore, Teaninich. Between Brora and Golspie is the Dunrobin Castle. Dunrobin Castle is the most northerly of Scotlands Great Houses. It is the largest house in the highlands with 189 rooms and is one of Britain's oldest continuously inhabited houses, in part dating from the early 1300s. Dunrobin Castle also has inpressive formal gardens and falconry displays. | |
