Brook Farm is a beautiful listed farmhouse with parts dating from the 13th century. The earliest part of the house was a medieval hall house and a huge low cross beam with a crown post on top spans part of the family room - so mind your heads! Later parts of the house date to late Tudor and Georgian times. In the front of the house there is a spacious twin bedroom and a double bedroom. In the oldest part of the house there is a family room, which can sleep up to five people. This room contains the medieval cross beam and crown post. Please note that access to this room is gained by ducking under this beam!Brook Farm is on the edge of the picturesque north Essex village of Wethersfield. The countryside is undulating and unspoilt and is near to the pretty village of Finchingfield. Thaxted, Saffron Walden, Sudbury, Long Melford, Cambridge and Newmarket are all within easy reach. Stansted Airport is 25 minutes away. Brook Farm provides a peaceful stay for business guests and if you are visiting friends and family nearby or are just passing through, you can look forward to a friendly welcome and a relaxing stay. There is ample safe parking and in the area there are several good pubs and restaurants.
