The boat to Lundy Island sails regularly from Bideford. The South West coastal path can be accessed at Westward Ho! and various points along the coast. The Tarka Trail has 30 miles of cycling through countryside and estuary, there is an entrance half a mile from Hallsannery. The fishing villages of Appledore and Instow, with its safe sandy beach, both great places for a meal or a wander.
