Morwendon House (meaning “white wave of the sea”) is a quality licensed guest house which is situated in the quiet village of Llanaber, just north of Barmouth with beautiful views over Cardigan Bay; an ideal base from which to explore and enjoy the delights of this beautiful part of Wales. Teresa and Geoff are your hosts at Morwendon and will personally ensure that everything possible is done to make your stay relaxing and comfortable. For a taste of quality living in superb surroundings Morwendon House fits the bill perfectly. Overlooking Cardigan Bay, with beautiful panoramic sea views, this substantial & most attractive house offers comfort, space & style in top quality guest accommodation. It stands in 2.5 acres of lovely gardens, with plenty of areas to sit out and relax. There is ample private off road car parking. The house has been lovingly maintained and offers guests a spacious drawing room with Sky television, a delightful dining room - both with sea views and six bedrooms, all of which are en-suite and all with views of the sea. Everything you need to relax and enjoy the perfect holiday. Situated on the A496 approximately 2.5 miles north of the seaside town of Barmouth, Morwendon House has private off road car parking within the grounds. Take your time to explore the wonderful coastline, maybe have a round of golf at one of Wales’ finest championship golf courses, Royal St David’s, where we can arrange a discount for you. If you would like a scenic day why not take a coastal train ride; the train will stop close to the house, and will transport you up the coastline and along the beautiful Lleyn Peninsula or down to the beautiful unspoilt character of the seaside village of Aberdovey and beyond. You can walk down the path from Morwendon House and catch the train at the ‘halt’ by raising your arm (just like stopping a bus). There are six en-suite bedrooms at Morwendon House some of which can be converted into twin bedded rooms. Our superior rooms (Rooms 2 and 3) have lovely bay window seating areas with superb views over Cardigan Bay. All rooms have a view of the sea. If you are lucky you may get to see the dolphins which are regular visitors to Cardigan Bay.
All rooms have en-suite facilities, are centrally heated and have remote control colour TV’s with integral DVD players (there is a DVD library and these can be borrowed at no extra charge). There are hospitality trays with tea and coffee making facilities.
We do not offer the facility of telephones within the rooms as it is nice to get away from the phone when you are on a relaxing break. The bright and spacious dining room is situated on the ground floor next to the Guest Lounge and again offers superb sea views. Our aim is to provide our guests with good quality home cooked breakfasts and dinners using locally sourced ingredients and organic foods wherever possible.
Here at Morwendon we pride ourselves on the first class breakfast that we offer our guests. Choose from cereals, fruit or porridge to start followed by our quality ‘Full Welsh Breakfast’ or if you prefer a lighter meal try our creamy scrambled free range eggs with smoked salmon on toasted home made brioche.
Our evening dinners are equally mouth watering with local ‘Welsh Black’ steaks and slowly braised Welsh lamb shanks particular favourites. Vegetarians are carefully considered at Morwendon.
