There are several good pubs in the surrounding area, including a few that serve real ale (some from Allendale Towns very own brewery) but if you would rather just put your feet up and relax after a busy day exploring we can provide a delicious home cooked meal. Pack lunches are also available. The interiors of the three large ensuite bedrooms are fitted out in a relaxing contemporary style and are situated in an attractive, recently converted, traditional Northumbrian stone barn set round a courtyard. . The large, light breakfast room leads out through double doors on to the patio and courtyard where you are welcome to sit and enjoy yourself, or wander out on to the Fell for a walk down to the trout pond or through the hay field to explore the newly restored Lime Kiln. (Image’s of lime kiln The farm stands within an area of outstanding natural beauty and is also participating in the Countryside Stewardship Scheme which helps create the ideal environment for the natural flora and fauna within the area. In the spring and summer you will find a vast number of ground nesting birds, including rare black grouse, snipe and the distinctive curlews with their haunting cry. As High Keenley is a working livestock farm there are also plenty of sheep and cattle! We are only approx. 40 minutes away from Gateshead MetroCentre, the largest indoor retail centre within the EU and 10 minutes later you could be in the centre of buzzing Newcastle.
