General Description | |
Ffynonwen is a family run guest house and restaurant set in 18 acres of lovely countryside, one mile from the sea. The 300-year-old farmhouse has been updated to provide comfortable holiday and bed and breakfast accommodation in a traditional setting. Pets are very welcome. Ffynonwen is Welsh for 'White Spring', which still provides us with all our water. Ffynonwen retains the feel and character of a traditional Welsh family farmhouse. Neil and Stefani extend a warm welcome to all our guests. Our resident canines enjoy the company of visiting dogs. Whilst our four cats patrol the barns and out buildings, Misty, our Welsh Cob, roams our fields. A herd of cattle graze in the fields during the summer and Auturm and we often have two pigs enjoying their free range lifestyle in one of our paddocks. The Ffynonwen lakes are home to moorhens and passing wildlife throughout the year whilst buzzards and red kites are regularly seen overhead. Fishing lakes are stocked with a variety of course fish and are often a temporary home to swans and geese. There are lovely views of the lakes and the distant sea from all the bedrooms and the restaurant. There is plenty of open space for our guests and their dogs to explore. Ffynonwen is ideally situated for local walking with both the coastal path and the recently created "Poetry Trail" easily accessible. Our grounds contain a compact sporting Clay Pigeon Shoot which is a short walk for the main house. Tuition and guidance can be provided by prior arrangement. Ffynonwen is ideally situated to explore the wealth of Welsh heritage. From Castles and Standing Stones to Narrow gauge Railways and Gold Mines we are never far from a new discovery. Our Coastline in Cardigan Bay plays host to Dolpins, Porpoise and Seals while Cormarants and Puffins look on. | |
