General Description | |
This lovely, family-run hotel, where the writer George Sand is believed to have found refuge during her trips, offers a historical environment and an excellent base for exploring this enchanting city at great value for money. The rooms, reached by a steep staircase, offer modest and a little dated accommodation, yet many of the rooms still retain some of the features of their 15th century decor, like beams or stone fireplaces. The rooms, reached by a steep staircase, offer modest and a little dated accommodation, yet many of the rooms still retain some of the features of their 15th century decor, like beams or stone fireplaces. This delightful hotel is ideally situated on the edge of the medieval town, right at the foot of the Chateau of Loches. The restaurant is probably one of the best features of the hotel. Beside offering fine and delicious French traditional cuisine, it also has a terrace with an unrivalled and spectacular view on the banks of the river Indre. This historical building still looks very much like the original 15th century coaching inn. The small and welcoming lobby area is full of character and will win you over with its original beams and antique furniture. | |
