This hotel is a great choice for those wishing to explore the countryside and history of North Zealand. Opposite is a large regional leisure centre which specialises in gymnastics while other neighbours include the sprawling office complexes of multinational hi-tech companies. Hotel Hillerød's best asset is its location in the picturesque heart of North Zealand. It is only 2km from Frediksborg Castle, 30 km from Helsingor and 35 km from Copenhagen. Breakfast is served on the ground floor in a room beside the reception. The outer wall is constructed entirely out of glass which enhances the high ceiling feature of the room. This combined with the yellow colour in the restaurant allows light to flood into the space throughout the day. A second, al la carte restaurant opened in 2006 in the lower ground floor of a newly built annex which adjoins the old building to the rear. It serves international cuisine in a contemporary and stylish environment. A low rise brick and concrete structure which sprawls in different directions from a glass and metal entrance which represents the central point where the reception and lobby is located. The building has evolved throughout different design periods causing a miss-match of 60's 90's and 21st CenturyThe lobby area is medium in size.
