Welcome to the Weisse Elster hotel, a cosy, attractive family-run hotel close to Zeitz town centre, around 50km from Leipzig-Halle Airport. Zeitz is a cathedral city which can look back on over 1000 years of history. As a former major regional centre and formerly a home to bishops and dukes, there is much to see and do and the region attracts thousands of tourists every year. The historic old town is always worth a visit, whether it be the old town hall, the cathedral, the town walls or Schloss Moritzburg, which now serves as a museum. Wine lovers will enjoy a trip to the Hubertus Triebe vineyard in nearby Wurchwitz. Wines from the Saale-Unstrut region enjoy a fine reputation within Germany and on a tour of the vineyard you can sample some of the local produce, including a fruity Dornfelder or a dry Riesling.
