The Gerbermuhle Hotel is a member of Design Hotels. Primarily built as a flour mill in the 1520s, the Gerbermuhle is, however, better known as the summer residence of J. Wolfgang von Goethe and his beloved Marianne von Willemer. Since the beginning of the 20st century it has earned a reputation as popular tavern and place of excursion. The interior design creates a warm ambience reminiscent of a traditional guesthouse, harmoniously combined with modern furniture and excessive light. The generous and vaste garden on the bank of the river Main offers comfortable seating in the shade of beautiful, old trees, an ideal haven where business men meet excursionists and families meet friends. Within the last two years the landmarked building has been renovated and renewly decorated and opened in July 2007. The complete new hotel-wing combines 19 individual rooms and suites, all equipped with parquet floor, air-condition, minibar, hair dryer, telephone with voicemail, flat screen-TV, deposit box, as well as free Wireless-LAN-connection. After an exhausting day one can relax in the restaurant with hotel bar or, on a warm summer day, why not enjoy cool drinks and local specialities in the comfortable summer garden. Meeting facilities as well as private dining rooms for 6 up to 60 guests are available. The Gerbermuhle is situated on the bank of the River Main but only a few minutes away from the Autobahn, the historical Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen and the city center. |
